Former Extreme Championship Wrestling regular Chilly Willy was shipped over to Iraq today as a member of the United States Army. Willy had expected to leave earlier on, but his unit had been held back for deployment until this morning.
Willy had joined the military after Extreme Championship Wrestling ceased operations in 2001. As a member of ECW, his highest profile bout was a Flaming Tables Match teaming with Balls Mahoney to defeat The Baldies at the Anarchy Rulz 2000 PPV.
Prior to entering ECW, Willy had entered and won several tough man competitions in the Southeast.
Former ECW worker CW Anderson passed along word that anyone who would like to send Willy any messages or well wishes while he is doing his part to defend the country can email them to CW at
enforcercw@aol.com.
On behalf of everyone associated with 1Wrestling.com, I'd like to take this moment to thank and wish Chilly Willy and all our men and women of the military a safe journey home as they defend our country. No matter your feelings, they deserve our support.
I wish Willy good luck and kick Saddam's butt
