WCWA's bookers on drugs
: WCWA Heavyweight Championship
: Primetime Peterson (c) vs. Demento Man, what the fuck. Seriously. What The Fuck. I thought WCWA was "old school", but apparently they pick and choose what they want to be, since in "old school" promotions, comedy wrestlers did not challenge for Heavyweight titles. Demento isn't even good, nor over. One can only hope this is some sort of swerve (which isn't an old school concept either). : WCWA California Championship : No Disqualifications Match : "Iceman" John Black (c) vs. Bigg Babbi Slymm Hopefully the blow off match. Slymm needs a convincing victory here. A good match and good finish could elevate him to the very top of WCWA. : WCWA Tag Team Championship : Scott Lost & Joey Ryan (c) vs. Off da Hook (Scott Young & Shawn : Riddick) Not particularly interesting but should be an alright match. It has some build to it, at least. : For Control of WCWA : Al Katrazz vs. DJ Medina I had no idea these two had a storyline going together. Anything involving Medina in the ring doesn't interest me. : B-Boy vs. Street Style This should be alright. Dunno why B-Boy is always wrestling on the undercard when he's the promotion's best wrestler and one of its most over wrestlers, though. : Dynamics vs. The Cartel (Preston Scott & Matrix) Neither team really interests me much. Decent filler though. : Frankie Kazarian vs. Perro Russo Another "what the fuck". Russo is a horrible, horrible wrestler. One would think after the abomination of a match he had in EPIC versus Vampiro that SoCal promoters would stay away from him, but I guess not. I first saw Russo in Mpro working comedy and he was horrible. I then saw him in TJ working lucha, and he was even worse. Working with Vampiro, unbelievably, he was worse. What a waste of Kazarian's talents. : Hardkore Kidd vs. Tommy Wilson I dunno, this doesn't interest me much. This card has some really whacked out things on it. Demento going for the title? Russo on the card? Medina vs Katrazz? I was interested in seeing the blow off to Black vs Slymm but the shit on this card really turns me off. I'm not sure if I'll be going to this. Justin |

My guess is that WCWA just doesn't have any faces to challenge Peterson that aren't taken up in other angles. Maybe Peterson can just destroy Demento to help build Peterson up more. Or maybe WCWA will redo the famous angle from CCW where Demento had to work and couldn't make the show to defend his hardcore title, so CCW announced on it's site that Demento was in a car accident. I hope this is the main since it's WCWA's (and maybe SoCal's) biggest feud and the way it's been handled really deserves some special treatment. Quote:
I think this match will be pretty good. Riddick is my pick for ROTY right now and Lost and Ryan have been on fire lately. Quote:
This feud has been going on for a little while actually. Last show it was announced DJ Medina would take on the winner of the Al Katrazz / Black match. Al Katrazz won by DQ. I agree about B-Boy being wasted in meaningless undercard matches too. Quote:
The worst part about this match in my opinion is the WCWA bookers know how bad Russo is. It isn't like they want to try him out. I have seen more than my fair share of Russo matches and never once have I seen a good one. I feel sorry for Frankie. Overall the show looks pretty bad in my opinion. Last show's card was pretty weak and I hoped they'd pull out a good sleeper show. They didn't. This show's card is worse. I guess when you are the only promotion in an area you can book as bad a card as you like. Steve |
I agree this card doesn't look fantastic, but at least it's back in Lemon Grove. From what I heard the Lakeside show featured a tiny crowd who were asleep most of the night. I have been to several Lemon Grove WCWA shows and the lively crowd certainly ups the game for the workers. WCWA is trying hard, and I guarantee none of the boys will have to take a light bulb tube over the head. Show 'em some support!

I have top agree it sounds like the worst card EVER! Fuckin Perro Russo????? Why are they wasting Frankie??? Demento in the main event???? Why don't I just wrestle the main event, I'm sure I can do better then this guy.
Medina vs. Al Katrazz- one non worker, one bad one with a 1995 WWF Gimmick. The rest looks plain and boring, even the "No DQ" shows little hope, not because of the talent but because of the companys vision of "hardcore" which is even worse then the WWF's. One show I will deffinetly not attend! |
Further more, B-Boy, while extremely talented hasn't been in many meaningful programs lately. I'm curious how Off Da Hook will challenge for the belts considering Sean Young is no longer wrestling. The John Black/Babbi Slym match will totally fire up the Lemon Grove crowd as their last match there sure did. Al Katrazz has gotten pretty over as a face there too, it could be a fun squash to watch, and I think that while the Dynamics are nothing to write home about, Preston Scott and Matrix's new heel gimmick w/manager suits them well and they had a great match against the Lost Boys in PCW a month or so ago. I agree the title match with Demento is silly, and it would make much more sense to put someone like Frankie Kazarian back in there, as he has yet to recieve the obligatory rematch since dropping the belt.
