 UPW regrets to announce that due to reasons tied to the recent passing of his close
friends Michael "Hawk" Hegstrand and Stu Hart, Roddy Piper will not be appearing at
The Galaxy Concert Theatre for this Wednesday's "Possession" event. "I remain
committed to UPW and its future and regret that I cannot be there," Piper said. "I
will be sending a representative though to announce my future involvement with UPW
and my plans to be a big part of their upcoming 5th Anniversary." To date, Piper
has made appearances at two live UPW events, participated in its current DVD release
and has dropped by UPW's school Ultimate University to share his wisdom on several
occasions.
We at UPW wish Roddy the very best during these trying times and especially send our
heartfelt condolences out to the Hart and Hegstrand families.
Said UPW Booker Marty Rubalcaba, "As always, we will do our very best to put on a
phenomenal show for our fans. We'll miss Roddy and will look forward to having him
back in December, but in the meantime, we'll make 'Possession' rock!" We once lost
Undertaker the night before a show and replaced him with HHH. We've had Kurt
Angle, Shinya Hashimoto and The Hardys. Rob Van Dam and John Cena have made
surprise appearances for us and in fact, Roddy's first appearance with us was a
surprise. We're hard a work right to now to insure that our fans will walk away
very happy from Possession."
In addition to working hard on a BIG surprise, UPW's Possession is presenting
matches involving Frankie Kazarian, Adam Pearce, Predator, new WWE Talent Chris
Mordetsky, The Ballards, Skulu, Big Babbi Slymm, Hardkore Inc, Lil' Nate, Mikey
Henderson, Erica Porter, Damage, Inc., Shawn Riddick, Desire, Savage, Pete Doyle,
Big Schwag, UPW Vixens Looney Lane, Savvy, Jennifer Thomas, Spanish Fly and many,
many more. Macabre Theatre's Ivonna Cadaver and Headbanger Ball's Riki Rachtman
will be on hand to host and to sign autographs.
