January 25 Update

For those fans who may have not already heard, Jack Evans was injured last week while competing on Dragon Gate's WrestleJAM 3 tour-ender in Osaka. Jack's injury was so severe that he requires surgery that will put 4 plates in his face, and keep him out of action for at least 6 weeks. We here at Pro Wrestling Guerrilla wish Jack a full and speedy recovery.

With that said, Jack Evans' injury will obviously prevent him from competing at Pearl Habra this Sunday, 2:00PM at The Gym at the Park in La Habra Heights, CA. The status of the third and final match in his Number One Contender series between Evans and Roderick Strong is in question, but Commissioner of Wrestling Dino Winwood and Commissioner of Food & Beverage Excalibur will have an announcement addressing the situation at Pearl Habra. This leaves Roderick Strong without an opponent this weekend, so Rocky "Azúcar" Romero has stepped forward to challenge Strong in a special attraction match this Sunday. The first match between these two was an opening round matchup at the 2006 Battle of Los Angeles, which saw Roderick Strong come away with the victory. Their rematch at All Star Weekend V saw the opposite result, with Romero prevailing. This Sunday, Rocky Romero and Roderick Strong will meet in their rubber match at Pearl Habra!

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's Pearl Habra takes place at The Gym at the Park in La Habra Heights, CA on Sunday, January 27, 2008 at 2:00PM.
